Job Title: Systems Engineer

Location: Luton – On-site 4+ days/week

Role Type: Contract – Initial 6 months+

Rate: £50.00 – £90.00 per hour Inside IR35 – depending on level of experience

Our client, an established aerospace engineering consultancy, require an experienced Systems Engineer to join their multi-disciplined team and systems engineering community.

This role will provide you will work as part of an Integrated Project Team currently engaged in the design & development of next-gen Electronic Warfare & Radar Systems.

There is multiple headcount available, with positions in the team for engineers with varying levels of experience.

What the role of the Systems Engineer entails:

Some of the main duties of the Systems Engineer will include:

  • Develop and derive project requirements.
  • Define and implement the project’s Requirements Management and DOORS Implementation plans.
  • Maintain configuration of the DOORS Project.
  • Support the creation and apportionment of systems requirements and allocation to sub-systems.
  • Support and manage the collation of verification evidence
  • Produce verification and compliance documentation.
  • Manage the flow of requirements from system level to sub-system level ensuring traceability of system requirements.

What experience you need to be the successful Systems Engineer:

  • Experience of Requirements Management Planning.
  • Experience of Requirements definition and apportionment.
  • Ability to work at Specialist Level in DOORS.
  • Knowledge of Atlassian tools, Cameo Systems Modeller or MATLAB.
  • Familiarity with EW, RF systems/Radar System design and operation
  • Familiarity with electro-optic system design and operation
  • Ability to liaise with engineers across disciplines
  • Ability to understand requirements specifications
  • Experience in systems engineering processes, lifecycle and procedures, including system specification and verification methods and procedures.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, along with experience of multidisciplinary teams.
  • An ability to collect verification evidence and supporting data and collate against the verification matrix for the purposes of compliance demonstration is essential
