We are partnering with a hybrid fintech / provider of financial solutions across FX risk management, global accounts, mass payments, fund finance, and cash management. Our client is an innovative business constantly breaking new ground in the way they operate.
The current Head of Legal is due to go on maternity leave in early July, so we are seeking an interim cover for a period of 12 months (FTC), starting in June.
We are looking for a lawyer with a minimum of 8 years’ PQE, preferably with a background in financial services.
What will the role involve?
- Providing legal advice on all matters related to the group;
- Collaborating with heads of business divisions to launch new products and services, advising during structuring, assisting with project management, and implementing contractual frameworks;
- Negotiating, reviewing, and drafting various agreements essential to the group’s operations (e.g., NDAs, partnership/introducer agreements, service agreements, trading agreements);
- Handling legal disputes and litigation, engaging external counsel as needed;
- Managing a team of 1 or 2 lawyers.
Technical skill-sets required:
- At least 8 years’ PQE;
- In-house experience within a financial services organization is essential;
- Qualified solicitor in England and Wales (foreign admission considered);
- Financial services experience, with FX/derivatives experience highly valued.
Soft skills required:
- People management experience, even with a small team;
- Commercially aware, confident, and proactive;
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities;
- Proven management skills are a plus but not mandatory.
