The Information Security Operations Manager is pivotal in strengthening our security frameworks, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and proactively mitigating risks to protect our assets and reputation. In this role you\’ll encompass the oversight of Security Operations and Security Engineering, management of incident response, and leadership of a dedicated team of security experts to ensure the highest level of protection MIB in addition to collaborating closely with IT, legal, and compliance teams, demonstrating strong leadership to drive security initiatives and foster a culture of security awareness across MIB.
Key Outputs
- Security Operations Oversight Oversee daily security operations, including monitoring, threat analysis, and vulnerability management, with regular oversight by and reporting to the Head of Information Security and Executive Security Steering Group
- Compliance and Risk Management Working with Group Privacy Office, Risk and Audit functions to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards. Supporting the Head of Information Security in conducting regular risk assessments. Ensuring that information security controls map to risk appetite and requirements
- Strategic Planning Support the Head of Information Security on the development and implementation of strategic security plans to enhance MIB\’s security posture and resilience
- Operational Resilience Identify within Security Operations and support the business on our Operational Resilience efforts
- Incident Response Management: Lead and coordinate from a Security perspective incident response efforts, ensuring timely and effective resolution of security incidents
- Budget Management The Security Operations Manager will play a crucial role in supporting the Head of Information Security to effectively manage the security budget. This includes resources management, identifying cost-saving opportunities, managing vendor relationships, aligned with MIB\’s long-term security goals

Skills and Knowledge
- Proven experience in leading, managing, and developing Security Operations and Security Engineering teams. This includes the ability to mentor and guide team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment
- Experience in budget management and control
- Extensive experience in security incident response leadership. This includes coordinating and managing incident response efforts, ensuring timely and effective resolution of security incidents.
- Relevant advanced security qualifications such as CISSP, GIAC. Vendor-specific training and qualifications for endpoint and networking security solutions are highly desirable
- Strong understanding of sound networking principles. This includes experience in specifying policies and operating security tool
- Proven experience in communicating and presenting highly complex information to internal and external stakeholders. This includes the ability to articulate security concepts and strategies clearly and effectively.
- Strong analytical and systematic thinking skills. This includes the ability to think strategically and manage complex security challenges
Salary £90,000 per annum Grade 14 IT kit supplied to you£320 (before tax) start up allowanceHybrid working (2 days in the office per week) from our Milton Keynes office, MK14
