Senior Agile Scrum Master – Inside IR35 – Stevenage (Hertfordshire)
One to two days per week in Stevenage or Newcastle (UK) is mandatory.

Job Description:
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Agile methodologies, particularly Scrum and Kanban and be proficient in setting up and managing Azure DevOps (ADO) Kanban boards and reporting. The Senior Agile Scrum Master will be responsible for guiding multiple agile teams, transitioning them from a Waterfall to Agile approaches, ensuring continuous improvement and effective delivery of software projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate daily stand-ups, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
- Coordinate work between Development and QA as required.
- Work closely with the Project team representing the Development and QA team as required.
- Set up and manage ADO Kanban boards, ensuring they are up-to-date and reflect the team's workflow.
- Generate and analyse reports from ADO to track project progress and team performance.
- Remove impediments and address team blockers.
- Coach and mentor team members on Scrum and Kanban practices and principles.
- Ensure the team adheres to Agile methodologies and best practices.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration.
- Promote transparency by ensuring all Scrum events take place and facilitate opportunities to inspect and adapt.
- Coordinate among the Scrum Team and monitor adherence to Scrum practices.
- Maintain and report team performance metrics.
- Escalate any impediment or roadblock that affects the team's progress.
- Educate the teams including on agile requirements, agile planning, and all things Agile.
Qualifications:
- Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or equivalent certification e.g. PSM.
- 8+ years of experience as a Scrum Master or in a similar role.
- Proven experience joining teams, diving into the details to unpack the challenges and embedding short term, urgent delivery approaches to recover failing projects.
- Proven experience in embedding Agile ways of working, tooling and reporting from scratch transitioning teams from Waterfall to Agile.
- Proven experience influencing demanding stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC).
- Proficiency in setting up and managing ADO Kanban boards and generating reports.
- Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing organisation.
