Job Description
Insight Global is looking for L2 Engineering support to join a large financial institution for an ongoing contract located in London, 5 days a week onsite. The chosen candidates will be working on a investment portal that is used with internal and external stakeholders to monitor their stock and shares portfolio. As such, the chosen candidate will be working with senior external clients and internal stakeholders/users of the portal to investigate and drive support resolution for complex technical issues that occur on the portal ie. access, missing or wrong data, simulation errors etc. That said, the candidate will need to be able to code troubleshoot and debug technical issues in which the L1 support team are unable to do. The chosen candidate will be working with cross-functional teams as needed whilst working closing with the sales and engineering teams to drive resolutions of client issues. The role will also include creating documentation/runbooks and code snippets to share with clients and internal engineering teams. Moreover, the chosen candidate will also be involved in continuously improving the processes and systems related to the portal to increase reliability and reduce risk as well as success improvements on the portals roadmap. The chosen candidate will also participate in on-call rotations and respond to incidents as needed in a timely manner. Strong written and verbal communication skills are imperative for the success of this role.
Qualifications:
- 4-6 years of experience of L2 Engineering support, specifically being able to read and debug code
- Hands on coding experience with Java
- Experience debugging API calls, writing quality-of-life snippets for clients, creating scripts for debug tooling
- Must have a basic knowledge of UI and API integration
- Previous experience executing on support issues while also building out the function and automating resolution of repeat issues.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
