Area Manager – Retail

Location: Birmingham / West Midlands

Contract: Full-time, Permanent – 35 hours per week (Monday to Friday, with occasional weekend work)

Salary: £36,000 to £38,000 DOE per annum + 5k car allowance or company car

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and motivated Area Manager to join a respected and purpose-driven retail organisation. You’ll oversee a portfolio of shops, leading and developing teams to drive commercial success and deliver exceptional community engagement.

Key Responsibilities

As Area Manager, you will:

  • Lead and support shop teams, including paid staff and volunteers, to achieve sales targets and deliver high standards
  • Drive commercial and operational performance across your region
  • Identify and nurture talent, encouraging growth and development within your teams
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with internal stakeholders and local communities
  • Promote the organisation’s values and presence across all locations

About You

You will bring:

  • Extensive experience managing multiple retail sites, ideally in the fashion or charity sector
  • Strong commercial awareness with the ability to manage budgets and deliver on key targets
  • A passion for community-based retail and sustainable fashion
  • Excellent communication, coaching and leadership skills
  • A hands-on, resilient attitude with great attention to detail and strong reporting capabilities
  • Flexibility to travel across the area, including overnight stays when required
