Job Description
Reporting to the Head of UK Packaging, the Packaging & Process Technologist will act as a key link between the product development and the production line.
The Business
Our client is a vibrant, fast-growing manufacturer of premium snack foods, supplying most major retailers with branded and retailer own-label products.
The Role
- Ensure the smooth scale-up and process development for new products, from concept to launch, ensuring technical and quality standards are met.
- Challenge current factory processes to find continuous improvement, efficiency, and value engineering opportunities to ensure consistent product quality.
- Identify and help implement new technologies to support the company’s Product Innovation Strategy.
- Plan and execute factory trials as part of the EPD and NPD programmes.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives across the product and process portfolio, working closely with Technical, Operations, and Engineering teams to implement changes effectively.
The Ideal Candidate
- Enthusiastic, initiative-taker, well-organized, and reliable.
- A passionate, driven ‘foodie’ with a strong understanding of fast-paced food manufacturing processes. Product consistency is essential to meet customer requirements.
- Degree in Food Science, Chemical Engineering, or related field, with experience in FMCG food manufacturing sectors.
- Knowledge of food manufacturing processes, including raw material preparation, extrusion, frying, baking, sheeting, and flavoring, in NPD, Process, or Development Technologist roles.
