We’re looking for a highly skilled and innovative Founding Engineer to join our AI-driven startup. In this pivotal role, you’ll take ownership of building and optimising our client’s backend systems, integrating LLM APIs, and ensuring a seamless user experience. Key Skills and Responsibilities
- Previous experience scaling chatbots with multiple agents
- Proven experience with LLM APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, or similar) developing advanced, non-trivial chatbots that go beyond simple LLM API calls, incorporating complex function calling, multi-step workflows, and dynamic tool integrations.
- Experience working with MongoDB for chatbot memory and data storage
- Ability to think from a user’s perspective, beyond just engineering tasks
- Experience integrating eCommerce APIs (Shopify, Wix, BigCommerce)
- Develop, optimise, and maintain our architectural improvements for scalability and complex features
- Fine-tune LLM APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, etc.) to enhance chatbot functionality
- Debug complex technical issues across frontend, backend, and LLM interactions
- Implement prompt chaining and refining techniques to improve chatbot accuracy
- Work closely with the team to experiment with new AI tools and APIs (like DeepSeek)
- Automate repetitive tasks, improve CI/CD pipelines, and enhance development efficiency.
