Are you a skilled Tax and Trusts professional seeking a new challenge within a respected legal environment? I am currently working with a leading regional law firm, known for its client-focused approach and collaborative culture, to appoint an In-House Trusts Manager within their expanding Private Client Division. Their Kidderminster office is home to a thriving Private Client team — the largest division in the firm — working across six regional locations.
As the Trusts Manager, you’ll take a central role in the firm’s internal trust administration and tax function, working closely with the Divisional Head and experienced colleagues. Your primary focus will be on managing a broad range of trust-related matters, ensuring accurate reporting and full compliance, while also supporting and mentoring junior members of the team.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the administration and taxation of trusts and estates, including IHT, CGT, and Income Tax matters
- Register trusts and prepare annual trust accounts and estate tax returns
- Coordinate the investment and liquidation of trust assets
- Act as a point of contact for internal stakeholders and clients, progressing matters with minimal supervision
- Support and manage junior team members and contribute to overall team development
Experience
- Solid experience in trust and tax matters, ideally within a professional services or legal environment
- Familiarity with trust registration, compliance processes, and complex tax scenarios
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with strong attention to detail
- A confident problem solver and collaborative team player
- ACA, AAT, or solicitor qualification preferred (though not essential if experience is substantial)
