Locum Consultant in Oral Medicine and Behcet’sOral MedicineContract: 12 months (Fixed term)Hours: Full time – 10 sessions per weekSite: Royal London HospitalBarts Health is one of the largest NHS trusts in the country, and one of Britain’s leading healthcare providers.We are seeking to appoint a Locum Consultant in Oral Medicine and Behcet’s to join the Royal London Hospital on a 12-month fixed term contract. This job presents an attractive and varied combination of Oral Medicine and Behcet’s at a large teaching hospital. This is a full-time position (10 PAs).The successful candidate will have experience in general Oral Medicine and the management of Behcet’s disease. The post holder will be working in a multi-disciplinary team including nurses, medical and dental consultants and resident doctors to support the delivery of the service.Eligible for full registration with the General Dental Council (GDC)Full Registration with the General Medical Council (GMC)Intercollegiate Specialty Fellowship Exit Examination in Oral Medicine or equivalent.Possession of a Certificate of Accreditation or eligibility for a CCST in Oral MedicineFellowship in Dental Surgery or Member of the faculty of Dental Surgery, or equivalentCurrent holder of an NHS or Honorary Consultant contract in Oral MedicineTraining and Experience~ Successful completion of an SAC-approved 3 year minimum training programme in Oral Medicine. Experience in day to day organisation of Oral Medicine services in a busy Teaching HospitalFamiliar with current structure of Health Service and conversant with recent initiatives and changesThorough understanding of principles of medical audit. Must have undertaken and completed audit projects.Ability to appraise scientific literature criticallyResearch relevant to Oral Medicine or Behcet’sEffective communicator, able to work in a close-knit team and co-operate with all medical and paramedical staffFlexible, able to cover colleagues’ absenceReliability, good record of attendance and tidy personal appearance and maintenance of Local Uniform CodeAble to demonstrate an understanding of Barts Health ValuesCommitment to uphold Barts Health ValuesFamiliarity with information technology and general computer skillsFamiliar with Dental information systemsExperience of post-graduate teaching and training at an appropriate level.This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service….
