Key Responsibilities

As a Family Solicitor, your role will involve:

  • Handling a broad range of Family Law matters, including separation, divorce, financial settlements, and children’s issues
  • Managing domestic abuse and domestic violence cases, including injunctions and associated family law matters
  • Drafting key legal documents such as Cohabitation Agreements and Prenuptial Agreements
  • Managing financial aspects of your cases, including cash flow control and adherence to billing procedures
  • Supporting colleagues by assisting with their caseloads, particularly during times of absence (e.g., sick leave or holidays)
  • Minimizing risk by ensuring all files are managed in line with the firm’s risk and file management policies
  • Following the firm’s office procedures and systems, and participating in relevant training
  • Supervising fee-earning work completed by colleagues as needed
  • Contributing to the ongoing development and success of the Family Law department

Requirements

  • A qualification as a Solicitor, Legal Executive, or equivalent
  • Extensive experience in Family Law, covering all areas of family law, including divorce, finances, children’s issues, and domestic abuse
  • Ideally, you will have 2+ years of PQE, though we welcome applications from candidates with varying levels of experience
  • Ability to manage your own caseload with or without support staff
  • Proficiency in using the firm’s practice and case management system
  • Willingness to contribute to the marketing and growth of the Family Law department
  • Strong financial acumen with the ability to meet billing targets and manage client accounts
  • Excellent IT, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Flexibility and dependability to meet the firm’s needs, including occasional overtime and weekend work
