Junior Consultant

Location: Oxfordshire (office-based with potential for hybrid working in the future)

Employment Type: Permanent, Full-Time

Salary: £25,000 – £28,000, with benefits and potential for profit-sharing

Overview:

Our client is an established environmental consultancy based in Oxfordshire, providing expert advice and support to a range of industries, including planning, energy, and development. Role Overview:

They are looking for an ambitious and detail-oriented consultant to join their team. This entry-level role is ideal for a recent graduate or someone with early career experience looking to develop their expertise in environmental consulting.

The role involves working on a variety of projects, supporting technical assessments, data analysis, and project management tasks. It will be primarily desk-based, but there may be opportunities to visit client sites. The successful candidate will contribute to research, reporting, and delivering client-focused solutions.

Key Skills & Qualifications:

Education & Experience:

  • A Level Mathematics (or equivalent) is required.
  • A minimum of a 2:1 in a relevant degree (BSc, BEng, or MSc) such as Environmental Science, Geography, Meteorology, etc.
  • Previous consultancy experience (1-2 years) is preferred but not essential; relevant internships or placements will also be considered.

Technical Skills:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to produce high-quality reports.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Outlook, Word).
  • Experience with air quality dispersion modelling (e.g., ADMS Roads) is desirable, though training will be provided.
  • Familiarity with GIS software and data analysis is a plus.
  • Knowledge of programming languages like Python or R would be beneficial.
  • Experience with laboratory skills such as optical microscopy is an advantage.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in all aspects of work.
