Nottinghamshire County Council is looking to recruit a Business Analyst to work in the Strategic Insight Unit, which works across the authority to support a wide range of continuous improvement, transformation and change initiatives. The work is diverse due to the many services we deliver and utilises a range of analytical methodologies, tools and products, such as lean systems and predictive analytics. We seek to provide to provide actionable insights and recommendations that help stakeholders make critical and informed decisions.
Role
This is a demanding role ideally suited to a person who has experience of working in a complex local authority or similar public sector environment, and an excellent understanding of the current issues, challenges, and developments involved. The role will be expected to:
- Undertake detailed diagnostics including root cause analysis
- Help to collaboratively generate and evaluate potential improvement and change options against a range of criteria
- Analyse current and forecast service demand/need, supply, utilisation, performance, and impact
- Apply understanding of the structures, inter-relationships and behaviours of complex systems and the processes within them.
- Support the development of business cases and the identification, assessment and tracking of anticipated benefits, disbenefits, risks, issues, costs
- Integrate, analyse and interpret large and complex data-sets and information sources in various formats
- Understand, develop and manage complex stakeholder relationships effectively and sympathetically.
- Work closely with colleagues in the Strategic Insight Unit and wider Transformation and Change Group to support a culture of inclusion, cohesion, collaboration, creativity and continuous learning
The post is initially offered as a fixed-term 12 month contract, with the possibility of being made permanent if and when a suitable vacancy arises.
