Key Responsibilities
Your role will depend on the team you join:
Safeguarding & Child Protection Team
- Undertake assessments and develop Care & Support Plans for at-risk children.
- Manage complex caseloads and respond to crisis situations.
- Work closely with multi-agency professionals and prepare court reports.
Permanence Team
- Develop and implement permanence plans to secure long-term stability for children in care.
- Work closely with foster carers, adopters, and connected carers to ensure successful placements.
- Advocate for children and ensure their voices are heard in decision-making.
Assessment & Intervention Team
- Conduct statutory assessments and develop targeted intervention plans.
- Work in partnership with families and professionals to provide timely safeguarding responses.
- Prepare reports for court proceedings and multi-agency meetings.
Who We’re Looking For
- Qualified Social Workers with Social Work England registration.
- Minimum 2 years’ post-qualification experience (safeguarding, permanence, or assessment & intervention preferred).
- Strong assessment, risk management, and decision-making skills.
- A full driving licence or ability to travel across Oldham.
