Role Overview:
Our client is seeking a dynamic and experienced Account Manager to manage and develop key accounts within the foodservice and wholesale sector . The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and growing relationships with existing clients- Sysco, Bidfood, Booker and identifying new business opportunities, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality service that aligns with the company’s strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Account Management:
- Act as the primary point of contact for designated foodservice accounts.
- Build and maintain strong, long-lasting customer relationships.
- Manage day-to-day client interactions, ensuring their needs are met and exceeded.
- Conduct regular account reviews to identify growth opportunities and potential risks.
- Business Development:
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the foodservice sector.
- Collaborate with the Director of Sales to develop and implement strategies to expand market share.
- Negotiate and close deals, ensuring profitability and alignment with company goals.
- Sales Strategy & Planning:
- Develop and execute account plans for key customers, focusing on long-term growth and profitability.
- Monitor market trends and competitor activities to identify opportunities and threats.
- Provide accurate sales forecasts and regular reports on account performance to the Sales Director.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with internal teams, including production, supply chain, and quality assurance, to ensure customer requirements are met.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to develop and implement promotional activities tailored to the manufacturing sector.
- Assist in the development of new products and services based on customer feedback and market demands.
- Customer Service & Support:
- Ensure timely resolution of customer queries and issues, maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Provide product training, education and support to customers where necessary.
- Liaise with the technical team to address any quality or compliance concerns raised by customers.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Essential:
- Proven experience in account management within the food manufacturing industry.
- Strong understanding of the UK food manufacturing sector
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Demonstrable experience in business development and delivering sales growth.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and clients simultaneously.
