Are you a passionate and experienced HLTA looking to support children with special educational needs in a mainstream primary school setting?

We are seeking a SEN Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Redhill, supporting pupils aged 4-11 on a 1:1 basis or in small group interventions. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on making a real difference in children’s educational journeys-particularly those with ASD, social-emotional needs, or anxiety-related challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide targeted 1:1 and small group support to pupils with a range of SEN needs
  • Support emotional regulation and build resilience in pupils
  • Promote positive relationships and social skills development
  • Assist in managing behaviour in a nurturing and proactive way
  • Foster pupils’ self-esteem, confidence, and independence
  • Collaborate with class teachers and the SENCo to plan and deliver tailored interventions
  • Contribute to EHCP targets and regular pupil progress reviews

What We’re Looking For:

Minimum GCSE Grade 4 (C) or above in English and Maths (or equivalent) – essential

HLTA status (Level 4 or equivalent qualification or demonstrable skill level) – essential

Experience supporting pupils with autism, SEMH, or additional needs in a school setting

A calm, patient, and empathetic approach

Relevant training in mental health, emotional literacy, or behaviour management – desirable

Salary: 90 – 95 (depending on experience)

Hours: 8:30-3:30 Monday-Friday

Start Date: ASAP depending on your availability
