Firmware Engineer

Job Title: Firmware Engineer Location: Fully Remote Rate: £50-60 an hour Contract length: 6 months Outside IR35

Role Overview:Join an innovative team developing cutting-edge wearable technology for real-time performance tracking. This role focuses on designing, implementing, and optimising embedded firmware for devices that deliver precise and reliable performance in demanding environments.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Develop and maintain firmware for wearable tracking devices.
2. Collaborate with hardware and software teams to integrate and test systems.
3. Optimize firmware for power efficiency and high performance.
4. Work with communication protocols (e.g., BLE, Wi-Fi) for data transfer.
5. Debug, profile, and test firmware using industry-standard tools.

Essential Skills:

1. Proficiency in C/C++ for embedded systems.
2. Experience with microcontrollers and peripheral programming (SPI, I2C, UART).
3. Knowledge of real-time operating systems (RTOS) or bare-metal programming.
4. Familiarity with wireless communication protocols (e.g., BLE, Wi-Fi).
5. Experience on a wearable device project.

Desirable Skills:

1. Low-power firmware design for wearables.
2. Experience with sensor data processing and fusion.
3. Background in sports technology or real-time systems.
