We are searching for an experienced Accounting Manager, for a 12 month maternity cover (FTC). You will need a minimum of 3-5 years’ work experience within insurance and be proficient in Excel spreadsheets and SAP software.

Main Purpose and Scope of the Job:
This is a maternity cover for a period of 12 months on a Fixed Term Contract.
As part of the Carbon Group Finance team, the main purpose of this role is to prepare the group Management Accounts for review and the corresponding initial explanations for deviations from Plan or prior periods (months).
As a fast growing business, Carbon is seeking to continuously improve and as Accounting Manager you will assist and/or lead in enhancing processes, corresponding controls and/or documentation.
The role is part of a lean and dynamic team and may be also required to support the team and/or wider initiatives.
Duties and Key Responsibilities
Management Accounts
- Monthly preparation of the Management Account
- Accruals and Prepayments
- Maintaining and reconciling the General ledger (SAP)
- Maintain Intercompany Balances
- Expenses Management
Accounts Payable
- Maintain Supplier records
- Make timely payments to suppliers and record all invoices and payments into the SAP system
Other Tasks
- Posting journals on SAP including sales invoices and Intercompany Journals
- Maintain other necessary financial records
- Bank reconciliation
- Standardization of processes
- Assist in development of controls and/or accounting policies
- Assist with Month End closing processes and other Finance ad-hoc tasks
Skills and Abilities
- Excellent numerical skills and interest in financial information
- Strong attention to detail and investigative nature
- Strong Professional ethics and accounting knowledge
- Proficient in Excel spreadsheets and SAP software
- Ability to work as part of a team and build excellent working relationships
Experience and Knowledge
- Minimum 3 – 5 years’ work experience in a relevant finance function
- Previous experience of SAP Finance module will be an additional advantage
- Previous experience in insurance
Qualifications
- Degree in Accounting & Finance or similar or AAT Qualification.
- Newly or Part Qualification in CIMA/ ACCA or similar UK Accounting course
