We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate *Occupational Therapist* to join our healthcare team.COMPANY DESCRIPTION-*Aaban Partnership Ltd is a new and exciting service offering high-quality specialist mental health services for young people with complex needs. Aaban Partnership Ltd has two CQC regulated bespoke built 10 bedded units offering Assessment, Stabilisation, treatment, and intervention for young people aged 12 -19 years.Providence Unit (Assessment and Stabilisation Unit) and Moira Unit (Treatment and Intervention Unit) are our two units and we require passionate, committed, hard-working staff to work as part of our multi disciplinary team.*AIM OF POST*-To carry out the role of Occupational Therapist across two recovery focused, therapeutic placements for young people with complex mental health needs, who have experienced attachment and trauma difficulties. The suitable candidate would works proactively in accordance with the principles of social inclusion, promoting independence and recovery.They would work with our young people to maximise function using occupational therapy techniques as the main medium of assessment and intervention applying client focused principles.They would contribute as part of a multidisciplinary team to ensure the highest possible standards of care are received by young people in the service.*MAIN DUTIES-*· Undertakes Occupation focused assessment for young people using standardised and non standardised assessment tools.· Works with young people to identify goals forming part of the overall multidisciplinary care plan· Plans and implements individual and/or group interventions, in collaboration with the young person; Articulates and promotes the role of occupational therapy within the setting.· Provides support and education to young people and support workers regarding occupational therapy provision.· Demonstrates the ability to clinically reason all aspects of the occupational therapy process.· Establishes effective communication networks with young people, team members, managers and other agencies.· Works as an integrated member of the multidisciplinary team, contributing to decisions with regard to young peoples care plans.· Confidently and clearly explains the meaning of occupation and its relationship to recovery and well-being to young people and colleagues· Ensures that written and electronic records and activity data are maintained in accordance with professional and organisational standards.· Ensures all written documentation represents the occupational therapy process, with a clear focus on function and occupational performance.· To be able to contribute in the production, and implementation of the services therapeutic timetable for each young person.· To be able to deliver 1:1 and group occupational therapy sessions to young people.*OTHER DUTIES-*· Complies with the current Occupational Therapists Code of Ethics and the relevant professional practice.· Takes responsibility for maintaining own registration as an Occupational Therapist.· Respects the values, cultural and religious diversity of individuals and contributes to the provision of a service sensitive to their needs· Engages actively in supervision and appraisal.· Reviews and reflects on own practice and performance and implements changes accordingly.· Completes all relevant training, including mandatory training.· Develops new skills through a variety of CPD experiences, including formal training and work based learning.· Understands the range of risks potentially faced by the young person both generic and occupationally focussed.· Is aware of the vulnerability of young people and act in accordance with relevant company policies and procedures.· To be aware of local and organisational safeguarding procedures and individual responsibilities.*Degree or Diploma in Occupational Therapy* HCPC registered as an Occupational Therapist* At least 12 months of post-qualifying experience working as an Occupational Therapist preferably within a CAMHS setting* Experience of working with children and young people*Experience in children’s mental health setting* Supervision of junior staff* Demonstrates experience of MDT working and with external agencies / health care providers* Ability to engage young people who may lack motivation or are resistant to change.*Knowledge / experience of the recovery approach in mental health* Knowledge/experience of Mental health act* Knowledge/experience of Children’s social care*Job Type: Full-timeCompany events* Company pension* On-site parkingMonday to Friday…
