Our client, is currently seeking a DM Principal Planning Officer. This is a temporary opportunity is offering a 12-month contract.
Key Responsibilities:
- Overseeing and managing strategic development sites
- Providing expert advice on development management and town planning matters
- Leading on the preparation and assessment of complex planning applications
- Ensuring compliance with planning regulations and policies
- Collaborating with internal teams, external stakeholders, and the community
- Preparing detailed reports and presentations for council and committee meetings
- Attending and representing the council at public and stakeholder meetings
- Mentoring and guiding junior planning officers
Job Requirements:
- Experience in development management and town planning
- Thorough understanding of planning regulations and policies
- Ability to manage and assess complex planning applications
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Full driving licence
- Membership of the RTPI (or eligibility for membership) is desirable
- Capability to work effectively within a team and independently
