Base pay range

Inclusive Consulting is excited to partner with a highly progressive and people-centric organisation based in East Yorkshire in the search for an Interim Group Financial Controller for a 6-month period. This role offers the opportunity to collaborate closely with the senior leadership team and play a key part in overseeing transactional finance, treasury functions, accounts compliance, and audit delivery across the Group, ensuring a robust control environment.

Role Responsibilities

  • Oversee the transactional finance function, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, credit control, and banking.
  • Manage the cash flow forecasting process, including FX and treasury management, ensuring optimal cash availability.
  • Oversee the month-end and year-end financial accounting for the Group, ensuring all financial statements comply with accounting standards and regulations.
  • Lead the external audit process throughout the year.
  • Drive continuous process improvements and simplifications, reducing manual and non-value-added activities.
  • Act as a key advisor on technical accounting matters.
  • Ensure adherence to Group policies, procedures, and external regulations.
  • Develop and manage a team of finance professionals, ensuring they have the skills and knowledge to perform their roles effectively.
  • Collaborate with the Head of MI to ensure the governance and review structure is clear and complete, particularly for balance sheet reconciliation.
  • Support payroll and tax activities as required, and assist with any acquisition or divestment activities.

Person Specification

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
  • Audit background is highly desirable to assist with process and system analysis.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and tight deadlines.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy, with a focus on high-quality financial reporting and analysis.
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills with the ability to build relationships with senior stakeholders.
  • In-depth knowledge of financial reporting, internal controls, accounting principles, and banking regulations.
  • Experience with financial software and systems, as well as banking systems and software.

What’s On Offer

This interim position offers a competitive salary of up to £80-90K (FTE) for a c.6-month period, with highly flexible working arrangements (1-2 days per week in the office).
