Key Responsibilities
As a Mechanical Design Engineer, your responsibilities will include:
- Collaborating with a design team to deliver detailed designs for building systems.
- Using advanced CAD and BIM (Revit) software to develop designs tailored to specific projects.
- Designing site-specific equipment as required.
- Overseeing the installation of systems and specifying maintenance and operating procedures.
- Working closely with structural engineers, architects, surveyors, and contractors, both in-house and externally.
- Attending technical and project meetings.
- Ensuring designs meet legislative, health, and safety standards.
- Advising clients and architects on energy use and conservation, aiming to reduce environmental impact and carbon footprints.
Skills and Experience
To thrive in this role, you’ll need:
- Proven experience managing projects from conception to completion, including calculations, drawings, and specifications.
- An accredited Building Services degree or higher educational qualification (HNC/HND).
- Proficiency in AutoCAD (experience with Revit is advantageous).
- Post-degree experience in Building Services or Mechanical Engineering, ideally progressing towards Chartership.
- A proactive and innovative approach to problem-solving.
