We are looking for an innovative and forward-thinking Mechanical Design Engineer to join our talented Engineering Team in Cambridge. Key Responsibilities

As a Mechanical Design Engineer, your responsibilities will include:

  • Collaborating with a design team to deliver detailed designs for building systems.
  • Using advanced CAD and BIM (Revit) software to develop designs tailored to specific projects.
  • Designing site-specific equipment as required.
  • Overseeing the installation of systems and specifying maintenance and operating procedures.
  • Working closely with structural engineers, architects, surveyors, and contractors, both in-house and externally.
  • Attending technical and project meetings.
  • Ensuring designs meet legislative, health, and safety standards.
  • Advising clients and architects on energy use and conservation, aiming to reduce environmental impact and carbon footprints.

Skills and Experience

To thrive in this role, you’ll need:

  • Proven experience managing projects from conception to completion, including calculations, drawings, and specifications.
  • An accredited Building Services degree or higher educational qualification (HNC/HND).
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD (experience with Revit is advantageous).
  • Post-degree experience in Building Services or Mechanical Engineering, ideally progressing towards Chartership.
  • A proactive and innovative approach to problem-solving.
