Pre-Construction Commercial Manager

Pre-Construction Commercial Manager – Utilities, Infrastructure & Civils – London/Kent

We are currently partnering with a fully integrated infrastructure provider with proven success delivering the UK and Europe’s largest construction projects. Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Pre-Construction Commercial Manager to join their team in Central London.

Responsibilities

1. Cost Planning & Estimation: Develops detailed cost estimates, budget forecasts, and financial strategies to ensure project feasibility and profitability.
2. Procurement & Contract Negotiation: Leads procurement strategies, negotiates with subcontractors and suppliers, and ensures favourable contract terms for the business.
3. Risk & Compliance Management: Identifies commercial risks, ensures adherence to industry regulations (e.g., NEC, FIDIC contracts), and develops mitigation plans.
4. Stakeholder & Client Engagement: Works closely with clients, consultants, and project teams to align commercial strategies with project objectives and funding requirements.
5. Value Engineering & Cost Efficiency: Analyses project specifications to identify cost-saving opportunities and alternative solutions without compromising quality or performance.

Requirements

1. Ideal candidate will come from a QS background with experience in Pre-Construction space.
2. Must be able to commute between Kent and London offices when required.
