An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Restructuring & Insolvency Solicitor (2-5 years PQE) to join a highly regarded and growing team in Manchester as an Associate.
This role offers exposure to a diverse range of contentious and non-contentious restructuring and insolvency matters in a fast-paced and collaborative environment.
The Role:
You will work closely with senior members of the team, advising a broad client base, including insolvency practitioners, directors, lenders, businesses, and other stakeholders. Your responsibilities will cover both domestic and cross-border matters, including:
- Handling transactional work (e.g., pre-packs, administrations, CVAs, and restructuring plans)
- Advising on contentious matters such as officeholder claims, antecedent transactions, and director disputes
- Providing strategic advice to financially distressed companies and their stakeholders
- Managing a varied caseload with the opportunity to develop specialist expertise across both contentious and non-contentious areas
About You:
We are seeking a motivated and technically strong solicitor with experience in restructuring and insolvency. While a blend of both contentious and non-contentious experience is ideal, we are open to candidates who specialise in one area—training and support will be provided.
You will also need to demonstrate:
- 2-5 years PQE with solid experience in restructuring and insolvency law
- The ability to manage a caseload with minimal supervision and meet tight deadlines
- Strong drafting, advocacy, and legal research skills
- Excellent client care, communication, and relationship-building abilities
- Organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines
- A proactive approach to business development and contributing to the team’s growth
- Leadership and supervisory skills to guide and mentor junior team members
What’s on Offer:
In addition to working within a supportive and forward-thinking team, you will benefit from:
- Competitive salary and a comprehensive benefits package
- Minimum 25 days’ annual leave (increasing with service) plus office closure over Christmas and New Year
- Private Medical Insurance, Income Protection, and Death in Service benefits
- Flexible working and the option for an early finish once a month
- Opportunities for career progression through a transparent promotion process
- Access to charitable initiatives, sports teams, and social events
- Employee referral schemes and financial support for professional development
