Location: Remote – occasional visits to client site in Plymouth (approx 2 days per month)
Duration: 6 Months
Rate: up to £680 per day (Inside IR35)
Clearance: Applicants must currently be SC cleared.
Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Human Factors Engineer to lead the integration of human factors and ergonomics into complex engineering and safety-critical systems. You will work on high-profile projects within the defence/nuclear sectors, ensuring that human performance, usability, and safety considerations are effectively incorporated into design and operations.
Requirements
- Degree/Master’s in Human Factors, Ergonomics, Psychology, Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience applying HF within an engineering context (ideally 5+ years).
- Experienced in human reliability assessment (ideally 3+ years). This should include: Human error identification, Qualitative / quantitative error analysis, Substantiation of operator safety claims.
- Experience supporting nuclear safety case development / review (ideally 3+ years) with a good understanding of the nuclear safety case process.
- Ability to deliver HF assessment with minimal supervision.
- Able to work as part of a HF and safety case delivery team.
- Chartered membership of CIEHF is desirable.
