Founding Software Engineer (Founding Engineer at Early Stage Startup)

Requirements

• Product minded – we’re looking for individuals who get excited about building a product that solves problems for users, not necessarily just about the technical side of things.
• Desirable – You’ve had experience with our tech stack (desired not essential) (React/Typescript frontend, Elixir/Phoenix backend, AWS infra).
• You understand tradeoffs and how to balance building something right and getting it in the hands of customers.
• Desirable – Cyber security background – whether that’s securing applications, working in a more IT role previously, or red team activities.
• You’re comfortable speaking to and helping resolve issues customers are facing – we’re a small team so this is a shared responsibility.
• Desirable – You’ve built or worked on technically challenging systems at scale before. We aren’t putting a man on Mars, but there are some interesting challenges we face.
• Most importantly, the idea of joining Ploy at this stage makes you super excited…maybe with a touch of hesitation, we think that’s probably about right.

What the job involves

• Collaborate closely with the founding team to develop and refine the product vision.
• Design, develop, and maintain scalable, high-quality software solutions that meet our customers’ needs.
• Take ownership of features end to end, from concept through deployment and support.
• Build out scalable patterns and architecture that allow us to not only move fast now, but in the future.
• Engage with customers and users to gather feedback and insights, using this information to guide product improvements.
• Mentor future team members as our company grows, helping to build a culture of excellence in engineering.
